international exchange programs

Exchange programs are organized at the Udens College to promote transnational understanding and co-operation. Projects between several European schools are integrated into the curriculum. We live in a global world in which different cultures, ethnic backgrounds, genders and political views exist. Meeting other students who live in another culture and have a different background, offers an opportunity to work together on topics of mutual interest.

To allow all students an option to participate, a network of schools has been built with several schools in Europe. All fourth (HAVO) and fifth (VWO) year students can participate in exchange activities. A full program includes a one-week visit to a foreign country, and another week to host their partner at home. Introduction to family life and learning about the differences in school systems has proved to be very valuable. This enables participants to exchange experiences, explore different aspects of European cultural, social and economic diversity. It increases their general knowledge and they learn to understand and appreciate each other’s views.
